The Saudi FDA is the leader in medical device regulation training.

Riyadh: According to the Saudi Press Agency, the World Health Organization and the Saudi Food and Drug Authority have been collaborating on a training program for creating technical guidelines and standards for medical equipment.

About 70 specialists from 21 different nations recently participated in an exercise at the WHO Global Collaborating Center for Medical Devices Regulation in the Kingdom as part of the cooperation.

With assistance from WHO personnel, the SFDA planned and oversaw the event.

The authority claimed that the program will assist it in achieving its goals of improving global leadership and creating a framework of regulations in the industry.

The SFDA was selected by the WHO to serve as its international collaborative center for medical device regulation due to its track record of providing oversight and regulatory assistance to developing nations in the Middle East and Africa.
