Grand Mosque within Dubai’s historic mosque that has stood tall since it was built in the old part of Bur Dubai in 1900. This majestic house of worship tells the story of a time long since passed.
When seen from the outside, it appears to be a magnificent stronghold with a tall minaret that rises to a height of more than 70 meters, which makes it a notable landmark. But once inside, the inside presents itself as an incredibly fascinating sight.
The goal of the Dar Al Ber Society’s frequent mosque tours for locals and tourists is to promote Islamic tourism and culture.
Even before it was built, according to Ismail Lewis Bullock, head of the mosque experience at Dar Al Ber Society, this location functioned as a “Khuttab,” a location for teaching Islamic knowledge and studying the Quran.
In 1960, the mosque was remodeled, shrinking somewhat to accommodate a market and other changes. Bullock remarked, “More improvements were made in 1990, giving the mosque a contemporary interior while maintaining its rich past.
The mosque’s distinctive construction, which consists of 45 little and 9 huge domes, makes for an amazing sight for guests. Huge chandeliers suspended from the enormous dome cast various tones of gray and yellow light over the prayer space.
