UAE: Private Companies Have a Responsibility to Train Emiratis and Create a Conducive Environment For Them

A senior official stated on Monday that it is the private sector companies’ responsibility to provide Emiratis with the necessary training and environment.

“The Emirati employees must receive training from their employers. It is a component of the public-private sector partnership. We have made investments in Emirati education, learning, regulations, and subsidies. In an interview with Khaleej Times on Monday, Ahmad Yousuf Al Nasser, assistant undersecretary of National Human Resources Development at the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE), stated that there are certain things that the private sector must participate in to meet the manageable Emiratization target.

Al Nasser delivered a speech at the MoHRE and staffing and HR solutions company TASC launch of “Making Emiratisation a Success Guide for 2024.”

It is mandatory for all UAE companies employing fifty or more skilled workers to increase the proportion of Emirati workers by two percent annually, with the goal of reaching ten percent by 2026.

Additionally, businesses must attain 1% emiratization every six months.

“We recognise that some businesses find it difficult to reach their emiratization goals since developing and keeping top talent demands a well-thought-out strategy and persistent work. Still, the government is adamant about helping the private industry. At the report’s launch, he stated, “Emiratization is not just a government initiative; it is a national obligation and a shared responsibility for all.”
