We recently had the privilege of interviewing Janak Sarda, CEO and founder of Blue Logic Digital. His journey from being associated with Artificial Intelligence to starting his venture inspires many. In this interview, Janak shares with us his career journey and the inspiration that led him to build his company, overcome challenges, and stay competitive in the long run.
Blue Logic Digital, as a firm, is offering exceptional services in Artificial Intelligence across various industry sectors. Janak’s insight on fostering innovation, assessing the potential market risks, and embracing the latest technologies and trends is quite exciting and offers invaluable lessons for aspiring entrepreneurs in the industry.
Critical Milestones In The Journey
We started the interview by asking, “Can you share key milestones and turning points in your journey as an industry leader or entrepreneur?”
Janak Sarda shared, “Our work in Artificial Intelligence has been one of our differentiating points. Blue Logic, as a company, has been dabbling with AI-related work for some time now – we started when businesses were unfamiliar with the term ‘AI.’ People have heard about artificial intelligence, but it must be thoroughly understood. Our learnings of AI so far have been phenomenal, and we were, and still are, ahead of the curve when it comes to AI.
We have seen that AI leads to multiple conversions. It opens the doors for brands and our customers to understand the different scenarios that are now possible. For example, a brand like Fidelity Insurance offers pet insurance. This is not a mainstream business for Fidelity Insurance. Still, through AI learnings or our openness to accept larger-than-life scenarios, we have created a unique platform for the brand to engage with its customers.”
Inspiration Behind This Company
To learn more about the factors that inspired Janak to start his venture, we asked, “What inspired you to start your own company or venture in this industry?”
Janak Sarda shared, “Technology is now driving the world. It has enabled businesses to do and perform at a speed like never before. Consumer experience of how brands interact with customers is changing, and it doesn’t matter if the business model is B2B; the expectations of business on both sides have phenomenally changed.
We understood this dynamic early on, and I, a traditional family business owner, started to look at Technology as an enabler to expand and dynamically change how business was done. I could see the difference it made to my traditional companies, and I realized that eventually, the entire world will also go through this transition. This prompted me to start Blue Logic in the first place.”
“This has been my experience even working with AI. We started with something small, understood the requirement, and then thought of how to adapt our learnings to more extensive and diverse projects.
Our exploration of AI-led to working on voice chat, visual computing, voice bots, and chatbots. As a practice, it didn’t change the narrative of what we wanted to do, but it gave us a directional push, and that’s where we are today.” He added.
Fostering Innovation
Having an innovative approach and fostering it within the company is essential for a business’s sustainable success. We asked, “How do you foster innovation within your company? Can you provide an example of a successful innovation initiative?”
Janak Sarda replied, “When generative AI picked up momentum, we, as a developer community or a technology company, picked it up much ahead of time. We had to build our understanding of how generative AI will be here in the real world and how customers could use it themselves.
We picked up those learning much quicker, understood ChatGPT or mid-journey ahead of time, and developed solutions to help businesses. We set a practice and gave a message that we are all about embracing the emerging technologies from around the world, which has helped us.”
Attracting The Right Talent
Having the right team with top-notch talent is paramount for moving forward on the path of success. So, we asked, “How do you attract and retain top talent in your organization?”
“Leaning on my previous answer – I would say that with our innovative work, we have managed to keep our talented group of employees highly engaged and motivated.
The kind of customer acquisition and innovation streak we have set as a practice keeps them motivated.
Most of our interns eventually grow within the organization to such an extent that they become client-facing – such as project managers. And they will stay back if you show them the growth and that you are innovative and forward-thinking.” Janak replied.
The Important Duo
We asked, “How important has mentorship and networking been in your professional journey?”
Janak Sarda continued, “With the pace at which the environment around us changes, one needs to revisit the areas that directly affect the operations, which could be mentorship, advisory, and networking.
Mentorship has been a valuable resource for us looking to grow and succeed in this ever-changing business landscape. However, it’s important to note that only some have access to formal mentors, so seeking out the right mentorship opportunities and being open to learning from various sources can also be beneficial.
Networking, on the other hand, will bring you sales. It will open your eyes to what’s happening worldwide, what the world perceives about your services and technologies that you keep talking about, how you harness them, how you take them to potential customers, and is all about that.”
Mitigating Risks
To learn more about how Janak Sarda mitigates risks in his company. So, we asked, “How do you assess and mitigate risks in your business?”
Janak Sarda replied, “If you love your business, there will be risk. Of course, you can’t operate without risk; business is all about that. So, my fundamental belief is if you like it, there is risk.”
Adapting To The Latest Trends
How does Janak ensure that his company stays updated with the latest industry shifts? So, we asked, “How do you adapt your business strategy to capitalize on emerging opportunities and industry shifts?”
Janak Sarda replied, “Being based in Dubai, UAE – we are constantly exposed to emerging trends and technologies. This city is leveraging Technology to enhance government services, infrastructure, and economic diversification, positioning itself as a forward-looking metropolis. So, when the environment is like that, one’s thinking will naturally be on the same lines.
You are going to adapt faster, and you’re going to be agile. You’re going to be constantly thinking about the ‘bigger picture’ in this environment that keeps pushing you to innovate, expand, and embrace the challenges constantly.”
Advice To Beginners
Starting in a similar field will be inspiring and helpful to hear from an expert like Janak Sarda. We asked, “What advice would you give aspiring entrepreneurs in this industry? What key lessons have you learned along the way?”
Janak Sarda replied, “The most important thing is if you believe in yourself, if you believe in the idea, just go after it. It’s essential to have a balance, a mechanism for periodic review, or to review the operation if required.
You will often make decisions that may not be the ones you want to take, or you may need to be equipped to handle. But then, that’s the fundamental nature of the business. So, whatever it is, you have to believe in yourself and keep going at it but also have a review mechanism that reviews your goal occasionally.
Surround yourself with the right people, which is essential because the world will constantly challenge you, but the ones who care for you will be supportive and help you make informed decisions.”
Long-Term Goals We Asked Janak Sarda
Our last question was, “What are your long-term goals for your company? How do you plan to remain competitive in the evolving business landscape?”
“To remain competitive, companies should focus on continual innovation, staying at the forefront of emerging technologies. Cultivating a culture of learning and agility is vital, enabling quick responses to changing market dynamics.
Additionally, we foster strong customer relationships because we learn a lot from our interactions with our customers. Ultimately, a forward-thinking strategy that combines innovation, customer-centricity, and ethical practices positions companies well to thrive in the ever-evolving business landscape.” Janak concluded.
