  • Entry permit visas
  • Visit visas
  • Tourist visas
  • Student visas

Foreign nationals who plan to get permits to work and live in Dubai must begin the procedure by getting an entry permit visa.

Requirements to Obtain Dubai Work Visa

For obtaining a Dubai Work visa, follow below mentioned steps :

1. Understand the Dubai Working Visa Types

Before applying for a Dubai work visa, it is important to familiarize yourself with the different visa categories available. The most common types include the Employment Visa, sponsored by a UAE employer, and the Freelancer Visa for those looking to work independently.

2. Secure a Job Offer

To apply for a Dubai work visa, you must first get a job offer from a UAE employer. Conduct thorough research, update your resume, and utilize job portals and recruitment agencies to explore employment opportunities. Connecting and networking with professionals in your field can also raise your chances of finding a suitable job in Dubai.

3. Employer Sponsorship

Once you have received a job offer, your prospective employer becomes your sponsor. The employer will initiate the visa application process on your behalf, submitting the required documents to the relevant government authorities in Dubai. These documents typically include your passport copy, educational certificates, employment contract, and appropriate experience letters.

4. Medical Fitness Test

As part of the visa application procedure, you must undergo a medical fitness test conducted by a government-approved medical center in Dubai. The test usually includes a comprehensive health examination, including a blood test, X-rays, and a screening for infectious diseases. The medical fitness certificate will be submitted as part of your visa application.

5. Entry Permit

Once your visa application is approved, you will receive an Entry Permit to enter Dubai. This permit is valid for a limited period, during which you must complete additional formalities to obtain a Residence Visa.

6. Emirates ID Application

Within 30 days of arriving in Dubai, you must apply for an Emirates ID card. The Emirates ID is a mandatory identification card for all residents in the UAE and is required for different official transactions. To complete the application process, visit an Emirates ID service center with the necessary documents, like your passport, visa, and a passport-sized photograph.

7. Medical Insurance

As per UAE law, it is compulsory to have medical insurance coverage while living and working in Dubai. Your employer is responsible for arranging and providing medical insurance coverage for you and your dependents. Ensure you know the scope and benefits provided by the insurance policy.

8. Residence Visa Stamping

Once you have completed the above steps, you must visit the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) to have your Residence Visa stamped on your passport. The Residence Visa is the final step in the visa process and allows you to reside and work in Dubai legally.

Obtaining a Dubai Work Visa requires careful planning and adherence to procedures. By following the step-by-step guide presented in this article, you will clearly understand the process and be well-prepared to embark on your professional journey in Dubai.
