Indian airport: Employees of an airline are detained for suspected human trafficking

The airline claimed in a statement that four employees have been suspended by the business as a result of their alleged arrest for human trafficking at Delhi Airport.

According to CEO of Air India SATS (AISATS), Sanjay Gupta, employees who assisted in the unlawful activity were removed from their jobs and turned over to Delhi police.

On December 27, 2023, AISATS participated in an operation with the Delhi Airport Authority and CISF to find and stop a human trafficking ring operating at Delhi Airport, according to Gupta.

“One of the three people who tried to immigrate illegally was caught during the operation. The employees who had assisted in the unlawful activity were then immediately turned over to the Delhi Police to face additional charges, he continued.

Earlier on Thursday, the Central Industrial Security Force stationed at Indira Gandhi International Airport apprehended four airline employees and one passenger who were allegedly involved in “human trafficking”.

At Delhi’s IGI Airport, four AISATS employees who were allegedly involved in human trafficking were apprehended by watchful CISF officers, along with a passenger.
