UAE Traffic Alert: Starting on April 15, Bus Travel on Major Roads in Abu Dhabi is Forbidden

In cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has declared that all buses, big and small (including light buses) are not traffic Alert allowed to travel on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street between Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Tunnel (formerly known as Al Qurm Street).

It will apply in both directions 24 hours a day starting Monday, April 15. Official holidays and weekends will be included.

According to the government, this limitation will not apply to school buses, public transportation buses, or buses that provide access to nearby work sites.

The authority made it clear that the choice is consistent with initiatives to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents.GHQ has announced that all types and sizes of buses (light and heavy) would be prohibited from moving on Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Street from Sheikh Zayed Bridge to Sheikh Zayed Tunnel (previously Al Qurm Street).

It will go into effect on Monday, April 15, and will be valid in both directions 24 hours a day. It will encompass weekends and legal holidays.

Along with urging operators and drivers to abide by traffic laws, the ITC also emphasized the significance of stepped-up road surveillance, bus monitoring for non-compliant drivers, and intelligent system-enforced penalty enforcement in coordination with the Abu Dhabi Police.
