UAE Towards Saving The Planet

With the ever-increasing climate issues and recent pandemics, it’s crucial that we take effective measures to save earth. Several countries across the globe are preparing different plans. UAE is also coming up with multiple ideas. After all, we can’t let the next pandemic take place.

The best way to prevent it is to reduce deforestation. In this situation, the UAE takes preventive care for this global pandamic. They have raised a lot of awareness about human health and the environment. Read below to know more.

In the quest for economic growth and development, humans are destroying or encroaching into animal habitats at a rapid rate. The result is zoonotic diseases like global pandemic Covid-19.

In the effects of deforestation and fauna being preserved, we face not just an environmental catastrophe but also a viral catastrophe where new pathogens can cause havoc on humans. In close proximity to people and wild beasts, new pathogens have been able to develop. They are constantly changing their form to cause a great deal of damage to human lives and economies, as demonstrated by the Covid lockdowns and the thousands of deaths they have caused.

Pandemics Deforestation & Climate Change

A number of scientific studies indicate that deforestation increases the risk of zoonosis. It thus leads to increased chances of future pandemic situations. In addition to causing increased human-wild animal contact, forest destruction leads to illegal trade in wild animals, which is often associated with logging and forest clearing. In poverty-stricken communities, farmers on the frontier and forest-clearing labourers are most at risk of zoonosis. Many disease-causing organisms are now spreading from the tropics into new regions due to global warming.Reducing the conditions that lead to zoonosis can be achieved by stopping deforestation and preserving a healthy biodiversity.

Experts warn that more pandemics are on the way. Avoiding the destruction of forests for industrial and agricultural uses is one strategy to reduce dangers. The UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) estimated that global deforestation will occur between 2015 and 2020 at a rate of 10 million hectares per year. According to the FAO, primary forest areas have decreased by over 80 million hectares since 1990.

It is clear that more needs to be done to prevent the next health crisis, which could mean letting wild animals live in their natural habitats. According to this UAE environmental management study, “commercial agriculture accounted for 40 percent of tropical deforestation between 2000 and 2010, while local subsistence agriculture accounted for 33 percent.” Global health is linked to green cover.

Final Words

In July 2021, the UAE sent 2,154 tons of medical aid, ventilators, screening equipment, personal protection equipment, and testing kits to 135 countries.

Therefore, to save earth, everyone should plant a tree and unload this earth. Trees protects us from all kinds of catastrophic disasters. Therefore saving the planet is only possible with a healthy environment.
