UAE: A 91-year-Old Grandmother who Swallowed a Fish Bone was saved During Surgery.

91-year-old Inez Richards enjoys biting into fish heads, but a few days ago, she complained of discomfort and needed to be sent to the hospital. As it turned out, she had a fish bone lodged in her throat, and the physicians advised surgery right away. The next day, Inez’s uneasiness turned into excruciating pain that made it impossible for Grandmother her to swallow meals.

We didn’t know how big the fish bone was, so we gave her bread and other things to help her eat it. It was unsuccessful. “We hurried her to the hospital as soon as we noticed she was in pain,” Inez’s daughter Sandy Saxena said.

After five days of unease, the family sought medical advice from physicians at Dubai’s Medeor Hospital. “We were informed that it must be surgically removed as soon as possible. Sandy recalled, “My mother was afraid and in pain.

Surgery was the only choice, according to otolaryngologist and head and neck surgeon Dr. Kishore Chandra Prasad.

When Inez arrived at the hospital five days after the tragedy and after multiple attempts to extract the bone, her condition was difficult. Given her elderly age and plethora of health issues, including cervical spondylitis.
