Jimmy Walsh, the co-chairman of Sharjah in UAE Wanderers RFC, one of the oldest rugby organizations in the Middle East, passed away suddenly and tragically. The team is in sorrow. This lively person, who was born in Ireland, passed away suddenly on November 19, leaving a void in the close-knit society.
Sharjah Wanderers used their official social media accounts to disseminate the news. Jimmy is a captivating individual in his early 40s whose legacy has touched many people’s hearts. Jimmy became a member of the Wandies in 2010, and since then, he has been an important member of the team, chairman, and legend.
The club paid a moving tribute to him on their Facebook page, describing him as a very generous and lively person who exudes happiness and vigor in every encounter. The post does not go into depth about the circumstances surrounding his death.
“He played a significant role in our 2016 championship team, was essential to the Wanderers’ 2018–19 revival after the club had shut down for a year, and once more was the driving force behind the popular Sharjah 10s’ resumption following a four-year hiatus. Additionally, he played a crucial role in the Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club’s hosting of this year’s first Supervets competition. He was that kind of man—on or off the field, he would lend a helping hand to anyone who asked.
