Sheikh Mohammed signs a new law governing the Executive Council of Dubai, expanding the role of Emiratis in important areas.

Law No. (26) of 2023 referring to The Executive Council (TEC) of Dubai was issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, in his position as the Ruler of Dubai. The Law outlines the goals of the TEC, which include carrying out the leadership’s vision to promote a thriving society, attending to citizens’ needs, guaranteeing a high standard of living, encouraging and securing citizens’ participation in important sectors, advancing sustainability and community well-being, and actively assisting in preserving the security and stability of citizens, residents, and guests to the emirate.

As per the legislation, The Council aims to improve Dubai’s reputation as one of the world’s top cities and elevate its place on global competitiveness indices in several domains. In addition, the Council wants to make sure that the emirate grows sustainably, promote a climate that is conducive to different initiatives, and improve Dubai’s readiness for the future. It also wants to make sure that Dubai is better equipped to handle obstacles and adapt to changes in a variety of fields.
