Saudi Arabian Desert Search Yields Live Emirati

After a protracted search, the young Emirati Zayed Ahmed Zayed Al Mansouri, 31, was located in the Saudi Arabian desert of Al Rub’ Al Khali. He had vanished there last Tuesday. At 1:00 pm, his white Land Cruiser was captured on camera at a gas station.

With the help of Saudi Arabian authorities, some donors who paid for the search costs, and Emirati-led cooperation, the missing Emirati was located in the Be’r Faisal area by a member of the search teams. The Saudi Aoun Society for Search and Rescue had earlier said that it had learned of a claim that Al Mansouri had vanished while on his way to check his father’s camels in the Rub’ Al Khali.

While the missing Emirati’s uncle officially reported the incident to the Saudi authorities, convoys of cars led by volunteers from the tribesmen began combing the region where he vanished.

After a report to that effect was distributed to its members, the Aflaj Rescue Association in Saudi Arabia also previously announced its involvement in the search efforts. Glider owners were requested to search the areas where he may be expected to turn up. One of the search teams that conducted a vigorous effort to locate the missing Emirati in the Be’r Faisal area did so with the help of Saudi Arabian donors who paid for the search costs and cooperation from the Emirati and Saudi authorities.
