Residents of Dubai's Sustainable City Receive Food and Groceries Delivered by Autonomous Robots

The first completely sustainable community in the area, The Sustainable City in Dubai, has announced the launch of three self-driving robots to transport goods from local shops and restaurants to residents. The robots are being developed in partnership with “Dubai Future Labs” and the tech startup “Lyve Global.

The Dubai Future Foundation’s “Dubai Future Labs” used cutting-edge, sophisticated technology to develop the robots.

They are intended to improve transportation operations’ efficiency, reduce delivery expenses and times, and restrict hazardous emissions from conventional operations. The robots use an intelligent interface backed by Lyve Global, a tech company, with several cutting-edge features and technologies.

Dubai Future Labs Director Khalifa Al Qama stated that the robots can move safely and autonomously on the sidewalks of Dubai’s Sustainable City and are designed to deliver goods in less than 30 minutes. Without human assistance, they will be able to find charging stations.

The Sustainable City in Dubai is being developed by the SEE Group, and Fadi Al Faris, General Manager of NZE Solutions, said: “The Sustainable City is the perfect place to test and deploy autonomous delivery robots and a launchpad for their future proliferation.” The city’s adaptable layout facilitates embracing new technologies, adjusting to shifting needs, and being future-ready.
