Meta's Facebook, Instagram Down for Hundreds of Thousands of Users Around the Globe.

Facebook and Instagram, both owned by Meta Platforms, were unavailable to hundreds of thousands of users worldwide on Tuesday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

According to the website, the interruptions began at 10:00 a.m. ET, with more than 300,000 claims of outages for Facebook and about 40,000 incidents for Instagram.
We are aware that some people are experiencing difficulty accessing our services. “We are working on it right now,” Meta representative Andy Stone stated in a post on X social network.

Meta’s status dashboard revealed that WhatsApp Business’s application programming interface was also experiencing problems. There were over 200 reports of WhatsApp outages.

According to Meta’s status dashboard, the application programming interface for WhatsApp Business was also experiencing problems. There were approximately 200 reports of disruptions on WhatsApp.

Downdetector tracks outages by collecting status reports from multiple sources, including users.

The outage was one of the top trending issues on X, formerly Twitter, with some users reporting that they were unexpectedly locked out of the Meta-owned social media services.
