The Inception Of This Business

We started the interview by asking, “Can you share the story behind the inception of The Content Savvy and how your engineering background has influenced your approach to digital marketing?”

Marwa Al Krad shared, “During the pandemic, we saw a massive jump in online activity worldwide, which pushed many companies to ramp up their digital presence. This spike in demand for digital marketing services sparked the birth of The Content Savvy in September 2020. Since we started, we’ve been all about offering a variety of digital marketing and creative services to boost companies’ online visibility.

That’s why we go by the motto – ‘Your online presence matters,’ because it does, and you can’t ignore it anymore. With my engineering background, we’re uniquely equipped to connect with clients in technical fields. This know-how helps us craft specialized marketing solutions that click in sectors like construction and IT services.”

Adapting To The Market Developments

Every field is inevitably filled with challenges. To learn how Marwa Al Krad overcame all these phases, particularly, while switching industries, we inquired, “What challenges did you face when transitioning from a technical engineering role to the digital marketing industry, and how did you overcome them?”

She passionately responded, “Marketing often demands a high level of creativity and sometimes an artistic touch. Unlike engineering, where things typically add up like one plus one equals two, marketing isn’t quite so straightforward. There’s a lot of trial and error, A/B testing, and tailoring strategies to what works for one scenario and not for another. However, it’s not all about facing challenges.

My engineering background has been incredibly valuable in effectively communicating with clients who require a deeper technical understanding. Having worked with over 35 clients on more than 100 projects across three different countries in the region, we’ve gained a solid understanding and successfully navigated numerous challenges.”

Leveraging Strong Expertise

Eager to learn how Marwa Al Krad blends her expertise in her current position at The Content Savvy, we asked, “How do you leverage your experience in sales and business development to drive growth and client acquisition for your digital agency?”

Marwa Al Krad

Marwa Al Krad said, “My background in sales and business development has been instrumental in driving growth and securing new clients for my agency. These skills are crucial for any entrepreneur because if you can’t effectively sell your business, then no one will do it on your behalf.

My specific expertise in B2B sales has also been invaluable. It has enabled us to build a robust database of B2B clients, fostering strong relationships and opening doors to numerous opportunities that align well with our strategic goals. This foundation did not only help in closing deals but also supported sustained business growth.”

Expanding To The Middle East

We further asked, “With your agency having completed over 100 projects across different countries in the Middle East, what key factors have contributed to your success in such a diverse market?”

“Our agency’s success in handling over 100 projects across 3 different countries in the Middle East, specifically in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan, stems from our tailored approach to client service. While these markets do have their similarities, their unique characteristics cannot be overlooked.

Our strategy is to treat each client as a distinct entity because even those from the same country or industry come with different backgrounds and aspirations. We make it a point never to recycle strategies; instead, we consistently innovate. This approach has been particularly effective in retaining our clients from as far back as 2020 and 2021, as we continuously deliver fresh, customized solutions that meet their evolving needs.” She added.

Aligning With The Latest Trends

We were curious to learn about the approaches adopted by Marwa Al Krad to ensure her strategies align with the latest trends in the industry. So, we asked, “How do you ensure that your digital marketing strategies are aligned with the latest industry trends and technological advancements?”

Marwa Al Krad

Marwa Al Krad replied, “In the fast-evolving realm of digital marketing, staying aligned with the latest industry trends and technological advancements is crucial. We constantly monitor updates, such as changes in social media platform algorithms, emerging trends, and the introduction of new tools, particularly with the growing influence of AI.

While we value continuous learning through courses and networking events, we believe that our clients are our best educators. They provide real-time insights into market demands and expectations. This direct feedback from those active in the market is invaluable in shaping our strategies to ensure they are not only current but also highly effective.”

Crafting A Strong Brand Presence

“In your experience, what are the most effective techniques for brand development and establishing a strong online presence for startups and SMEs?”

“Establishing a robust online presence and brand identity for startups and SMEs involves a strategic blend of techniques. One of the most effective approaches is to start with a solid foundation in brand awareness. This means focusing on creating a recognizable brand image and voice before aggressively pursuing conversions and lead generation.

Content marketing, social media engagement, and SEO are also key pillars in this process. Producing valuable content that resonates with your target audience can help in building trust and establishing your brand as an authority in your industry.” She shared.

Fostering Creativity, We asked Marwa Al Krad

To learn Marwa Al Krad’s vision of ensuring a competitive edge and fostering creativity within her team at the same time, we asked, “Why do you consider your agency a creative digital agency, and how do you sustain its creative dimension?”

Marwa Al Krad shared, “We sustain our creative edge by fostering a culture of continuous learning and open experimentation, where new ideas are not just welcomed but actively tested. Our commitment to embracing fresh perspectives is crucial, allowing us to continually evolve and adapt by drawing lessons from our surroundings, particularly through interactions with our clients. We also prioritize cross-disciplinary collaboration, leveraging diverse skill sets to enrich and invigorate our creative processes.”

Reshaping Businesses: Impact Of Technology

We were intrigued to learn about the perspective of Marwa Al Krad on the impact of fast-paced digital transformation on her industry. So, we asked, “How is the emergence of AI and generative AI reshaping digital marketing, and do you believe it will lead to significant job displacement within the industry?”

“AI and generative AI are revolutionizing digital marketing, turbocharging everything from routine task automation to content creation, and pushing the boundaries of personalized customer experiences.

While AI might phase out some old-school roles, especially those focused on the mundane, it’s also sparking a bunch of exciting new opportunities that call for sharp analytical and tech skills. I genuinely believe AI is here to transform jobs, not just wipe them out. It’s all about leveling up, embracing change, and riding the wave of innovation.” Marwa shared.

Being Ready To Experiment

Lastly, seeking guidance for aspiring entrepreneurs, we asked, “What advice would you give to aspiring digital marketers looking to make a mark in the industry, especially those coming from non-traditional backgrounds?”

Marwa Al Krad concluded, “Get hands-on; Whether it’s through personal projects or volunteering, real-world experience is golden. Networking is your next big play. Immerse yourself in communities that spark inspiration and connect you to the industry’s heartbeat. And if you’re stepping in from a non-traditional background, that’s not just okay, it’s your secret weapon. Use your unique perspective to shake things up and bring fresh ideas to the table. Don’t be afraid to experiment and find out what clicks with the audience.”
