According to Iranian state media, Friday saw explosions in the central Iranian province of Isfahan. The US media also quoted authorities claiming that Israel had struck back at its bitter enemy.
According to state media, the nation’s main broadcaster said explosions were heard close to the city of Isfahan, prompting the activation of air defense systems across other Iranian cities.
Iran’s space agency spokesman Hossein Dalirian said that “several” drones had been “successfully shot down.” In contrast, the Fars news agency reported that “three explosions” had been heard close to the Shekari army airbase in the northwest of the province of Isfahan.
There are no reports of a missile attack,” Dalirian posted on the social media network X.
Iran’s Tasnim news agency said, citing “reliable sources,” that nuclear facilities in Isfahan are “completely secure.
With the support of its partners, Israel successfully intercepted the majority of Iran’s 300 missiles and drone launches without losing any lives.
It began its onslaught as payback for an attack on its consulate in Damascus on April 1 that was largely attributed to Israel. Iran is a major supporter of Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas, the militant Palestinian organization.
Since Iran attacked Israel, there has been a sharp increase in fears of a significant regional fallout from the Gaza war.
