Indian Couple and Their Daughter were Killed in a'Suspicious' Fire in Canada.

An Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter have died in a “suspicious” fire that burned their home in Ontario, Canada, last week, according to authorities. A fire overtook a residence in Brampton’s Big Sky Way and Van Kirk Drive neighborhood on March 7, according to a Peel Police press statement issued on Friday.

After the fire was extinguished, authorities discovered what seemed to be human remains within the burned house, although the number of victims could not be determined at the time.

The burned bones were identified on Friday as those of three family members: Rajiv Warikoo, 51; his wife, Shilpa Kotha, 47; and their 16-year-old daughter, Mahek Warikoo.

Rajiv was a member of the Toronto Police Department’s auxiliary and volunteer officer programs. He completed his duty in 2016 ,Rajiv’s LinkedIn page indicated that he worked for the Ontario Government, Ministry of Health.

Police stated they lived at the address before the incident. Peel police Constable Taryn Young confirmed on Friday that the fire was suspicious, according to CTV News.

“At this time, we are investigating this with our homicide bureau, and we are deeming this as suspicious as the Ontario Fire Marshal has deemed that this fire was not accidental,” Young said.
