The Punitive and Correctional Institutions in Dubai supported male and female prisoners by giving them Dh4,626,940 in cash and in-kind support in the first half of this year.
These programs, which are based in Emirati society’s ideals of tolerance and fraternity, seek to enhance the quality of life for prisoners.
Institutions, community philanthropists, and nonprofits are important collaborators in assisting prisoners and their families with these projects. Brigadier Salah Juma Bu Osaiba, the acting director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, expressed gratitude to the donors who helped fund the institutions’ charitable endeavours.
The acting deputy director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Institutions, Colonel Abdullah Yaqoub Al Khedher, also emphasised the significance of the Humanitarian Care Department in resolving a range of problems encountered by prisoners of diverse nationalities. According to Captain Habib Hussein Mohammed Al Zarouni, head of the Humanitarian Care Department, the department also conducted field visits to a number of charitable organisations to investigate ways to improve collaboration in resolving the humanitarian issues faced by prisoners.
