RIYADH: A plot to smuggle 252 kg of the drug qat has been foiled by Saudi border police in the Asir area.
The confiscated contraband was turned over to the appropriate authority when the preliminary legal proceedings were finished.
The Saudi government has issued an appeal to anyone with knowledge about possible customs infractions or smuggling operations.
