In a Rare Case of mass Murder, Four Children were Among the Six People Killed in the Canadian Capital.

Six people, four of whom were children, were killed in Ottawa, Canada, late Wednesday, according to authorities, shaking a country where mass murders are uncommon.
The police soon apprehended a guy and stated that the fatalities did not appear to be related to domestic or intimate partner violence. “The scene is a horrific one,” police chief Eric Stubbs told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, without explaining how the people perished.

In a social media post, Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe described it as “one of the most shocking incidents of violence in our city’s history.”

“I was heartbroken to read of the several homicides in Barrhaven, which was one of the most devastating acts of violence in our city’s history. Mark Sutcliffe wrote, “We are proud to live in a safe community, but this news is distressing to all Ottawa residents.”

Ottawa, which has a population of one million, had 14 murders in 2023 and 15 in 2022.

The dead, who were located inside a house in the southwestern neighborhood of Barrhaven, have yet to be named. According to a statement, police arrived at the location shortly before 11 p.m. on Wednesday in response to emergency calls.
