There are expectations that Congress will eventually pass roughly $95 billion in foreign aid, including financing for Ukraine, at a busy construction site outside of Dallas. This is because American US factory jobs depend on this money.
The new munitions production facility of General Dynamics, an aerospace and defense business, is planned to create 150 jobs at first in the Mesquite suburb of Dallas. Construction is almost finished, and the complex—which will open in June—overlooks one of the busiest interstates in the area. Newly planted trees and bushes have already been installed.
Director of Economic Development for Mesquite Kim Buttram stated, “We want to increase our wages and our skill levels and job opportunities.” She also mentioned that when the factory is operating at total capacity, over 300 jobs are anticipated.
President Joe Biden wants voters to know that almost two-thirds, or nearly $40 billion, of the aid that would be passed for Ukraine would go to US factories located across the nation, including those in Lima, Ohio, Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Mesquite. This is important as he presses House Republicans to approve the desperately needed aid.
