At Dubai Mall, Salik will shortly introduce charged parking.

Salik, the toll gate operator, will shortly charge for parking at Dubai Mall. The barrier-free technology will be used for this purpose.

To “provide a seamless and efficient parking management system at the world-famous Dubai Mall,” Salik and Emaar Malls announced their collaboration on Friday. The deal calls for using Salik’s technology to give mall patrons a seamless, barrier-free parking experience.

The system is anticipated to be operational by 2024’s third quarter. Salik states fees will be “determined after Emaar Malls finalizes the project’s business rules.”

Vehicle plate recognition technology will be used to charge the automated fee collection system for ticketless parking. Emaar Malls still needs to specify the costs, but they will be taken out of the Salik user account.

“Salik is ideally placed to provide this seamless and convenient customer journey, with the solution eliminating the need for gates or barriers at Dubai Mall, helping to minimize congestion and traffic for the customers,” stated Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, CEO and board member of Salik Company PJSC.
He continued, “We are excited to build on this initiative’s successes to expand the offering to other locations around the city.
