Fitness is something most people aim to achieve. When it comes to that, there are several aspects like getting a proper diet, trainer or some prefer to do their own activities. What’s constant in all this is fitness wear. We heard about Beingbare and decided to interview Kurup S., the COO of Beingbare. Let’s see what we got to know about the brand.
The Idea Behind The Fitness Style With Beingbare
Our first question was, “What’s the idea behind Your Company?”
“Beingbare is a fitness apparel and accessories brand. We create and distribute our own range of fitness/sportswear for all types of sports, mainly Gym gear.
We are a bunch of corporate professionals who used to head the topmost positions in marketing, sales, and operations of global fashion and sportswear brands in Dubai. For the fitness enthusiasts in UAE, finding the best-in-class gym wear that could fit well, stand up to seriously intense workouts and give off a prime look was difficult. Most of the existing players in the market claim to be the best, but in reality, their products are not. It’s all about the fit!
And this is where exactly BEINGBARE was born.
Our customers speak, our products speak, our fabric speaks.
It was clear to us that many of the big brands were already offering best-in-class quality. However, their designs are pretty monotonous with no finesse. So we set out to challenge the status quo. Our products are similarly best in class quality but, most importantly, dominate in the style department. We are second to none in terms of performance, durability, and fit.
Every Beingbare apparel has been engineered for active life from fit to stitch to fabric with gym goers in mind and to fulfill our vision of what gym wear should be. Fitness fanatics and everyday gym goers are our brand ambassadors, which is ever-increasing. They help us design our products and select our fabrics and other materials with their wants, improving their training quality and providing valuable feedback. And we have loved every bit of it.
It all boils down to this – We @Beingbare believe that good things come to those who sweat and that good gym wear should help you feel good and look good while you sweat.
It’s the Second Skin. You’ll love it!” said Kurup.
The Career Journey With Inspirational Advice
We wanted to know about Kurup’s journey. That’s why we asked him about it, along with some advice for beginners.
“I’ve always been a Marketer. So passionate. Studied, preached and practiced marketing throughout my entire career. Been a Chief marketing officer for long
(15 years in UAE), headed some great international brands in the region and built sensational success stories out there. The journey was never a cake walk and had its fair share of ups and downs too.” said Kurup.
He further continues, “As far as giving advice is concerned, I don’t see myself as somebody so good and wise. I am only as good as my life experiences, what I learned, and the good I imbibed.
But my modest message to beginners would be ‘Chase your passion in life. Go after it. Give it a try.’ Not many do. Trust me, guys, you won’t be disappointed.”
Attaining Goals With Teamwork And Dedication
“Constant betterment of ourselves every day through our products and services and serve our customers by offering them the best. Be there when they really need us. Our motto- ‘Together we go’. Still a long way to reach the eventual goal, I am excited and geared up.” Kurup had to say this when we asked him about his goals.
What makes the team successful, in your opinion?
“Enthusiasm and Empowerment. I am a firm believer and advocate of team empowerment, and how does that happen? – By building trust. Teamwork begins by creating trust, which transforms into empowerment and leads to success. Getting the right team is the key.
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” said Kurup.
How important are employees’ energy levels to the success of Your Company?
Kurup continued, “Very important. Everything gets monotonous when done repeatedly and incessantly. So having the employees energy levels UP is both necessary and challenging as well. At Beingbare, we are a closely knit small group of ardent people sharing the same elated energy levels.
Because although our training grounds and end goals might differ, sweat is our sport. And we’re a team of individuals who know where to go. Further, we go together, all in.”
We also asked Kurup S., “How do you plan to motivate your team to go an extra mile?”
“Camaraderie is my mantra. It has always been. Stress takes a back seat at Beingbare. The E-commerce business is quite competitive and Q2C even more fierce. But when things are transparent and clear, communication helps you move quickly, vanquishing all the fear factors, shortcomings, bottlenecks, and deadlines.
Moreover, I am the person who loves to lead by example, the power of transference.”
Moving Through Challenges And Joining Forces With Technology
Challenges are something that several (almost all) businesses come across. We wanted to know what challenges Kurup faced as a leader.
He said:
“Challenges and obstacles are inevitable, especially for an incomer like us. However, every challenge is an opportunity in disguise. The wise way to look at it is to stick to the basics, be prepared, and well equipped, learn from those challenges and transform them into opportunities.
Conditioning is everything we do today to prepare for tomorrow. It’s not our goals that unite us, but the things we do to achieve them.”
We were also curious about how (if) technology is helping him and his business.
He replied, “Absolutely. My company is basically a tech company. Fashion & Fitness apparel – B2C/Q2C is our domain. Technology has grown manifolds in the last 15-20 years. Today in 2022, technology greatly influences our daily lives, and my team strives to serve our customers in the best ways possible.
20 years back, we didn’t have E-commerce platforms, WhatsApp, Facebook, Google, YouTube, Cloud kitchen, Uber, AI, Data Science, Robotics, and whatnot. Today businesses are being built around technology as their core foundation, and the traditional way of doing business is being overtaken by modern/online/eCommerce. In the near future, where web 3.0 and metaverse are going to be the new world, I can firmly say yes, technology is taking us places!”
Here’s what Kurup has to say about adapting to digitalization.
“Today, the whole world is going digital, and we too are. Customers are online. Timing is everything. It’s a virtual world already. Being incorporated in this digital age, our ideas and concepts revolve around embracing the new and integrating them for good.
We are in the process of enhancing the UI & UX of our website in terms of user engagement, experience, and ease of our customers. It will be one of its kind where new features will be tried and tested for our shoppers.”

Do you use innovative ideas to be unique?
“For sure. To be unique is not at all an option but a necessity. In terms of product launches, brand positioning, campaigns, social media putouts and customer approach this can be seen. Our marketing, creative and customer experience team are hell-bent on this. We mostly try to take the paths less travelled and often it yields greater results, and the feedbacks are excellent.” he said.
“What are the services/solutions or products offered by Your Company as par with the current industry standards? Tell us something about your upcoming products or services?” we asked Kurup.
He replied, “As I said, we are comparatively a new brand but passionate and gritty. This positive attitude can also be seen in our products in terms of quality, durability, and performance. We are pledged to bring the ‘right fit’ to our esteemed customers in the demanding fitness industry. Our R&D team headed by Mr. Anshad Azeez is putting in great efforts to introduce a new Peruvian fabric based apparel line that is going to be revolutionary and classy.
We have some great new-age products conceptualized at the back, which will define new standards. Planning to roll them out by next summer.”
Lastly, we asked him if he had anything else to say to our viewers.
He said, “I see you have an ever-growing, wonderful set of viewers. Honored and humbled to present my story in front of such great listeners. Please keep motivating people like us, the budding entrepreneurs. Your time matters, your attention matters. We are here to serve you better.
Thank you for having me.”
