UAE: Before Accepting a New Position, Job Applicants Consider Benefits Packages in Addition to Pay.

In the UAE and the rest of the region, a company’s perks package is the primary draw for candidates looking for new positions aside from pay. According to more than 60% of participants in a pan-Gulf study, a comprehensive benefits package is the most significant feature of an organization for them.

According to Hays’ GCC Salary Guide for 2024, professionals place the highest priority on three benefits: flexible working (34%); child education allowances (38%); and plane ticket/travel allowances (43%).

Although only 5% of companies say they don’t provide benefits, 41% of professionals say they don’t. “This highlights a disparity between the benefits that employers and professionals believe they are receiving and what is offered, potentially resulting from unclear or opaque communication procedures,”

Roughly 75% of companies concur that the benefits package is the most crucial element in assisting them in luring and keeping employees. The top three perks that employers provide are life insurance (42%), flexible working (35%), and air ticket/travel allowances (59%).
