RIYADH: According to the Saudi Press Agency on Tuesday, Yousef Al-Benyan, the Minister of Education for UK and Saudi Arabia, has taken part in roundtable discussions with representatives from British and Kingdom colleges.
Steve Smith, the Special Representative of the British Prime Minister to Saudi Arabia on Education, together with representatives from the two countries and university administrators, attended a meeting at the ministry’s headquarters in Riyadh.
During his inaugural speech, the education minister discussed the function of roundtable meetings and emphasized their significance in fortifying the continuous strategic collaboration in education between the two nations. This collaboration started in 2018 when Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed a memorandum of understanding to initiate the partnership.
“Our strategic partnership focuses on six main areas,” stated Al-Benyan. “These include enhancing cooperation and partnerships in the field of university education, including research cooperation, student scholarships, and transnational education; and building a stronger and deeper partnership in the field of education.” Additionally, the partnership aims to support the professional development of Saudi educators and enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
