RIYADH Hans Grundberg, the UN’s special envoy to Yemen, and Prince Khalid bin Salman, the Saudi defense minister spoke about the most recent events in the Yemeni crisis on Thursday.
In a message shared on social networking site X following the meeting in Riyadh, the prince stated, “We reviewed the Kingdom’s efforts to support the peace process in Yemen, as well as the road map between the Yemeni sides to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution, under UN supervision.”
The meeting was also attended by Hisham bin Abdulaziz bin Saif, the director general of the Office of the Minister of Defense, and Mohammed Al-Jaber, the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Linnea Hincks, Grundberg’s special assistant; April Alley, the envoy’s adviser; and Roxaneh Bazergan, the envoy’s chief of political affairs, were among the UN attendees.
Maj. Gen. Mohammed Bagheri, the chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, also called Prince Khalid on Thursday. During their conversation, they reviewed the military and defense ties between their nations and talked about matters of common concern.
