Dubai helps those who are determined to go around the city by providing free Salik and customized cabs.

For those who are determined, the UAE has over the years passed a number of legislation and programs to facilitate travel and daily living. In particular, Dubai’s RTA has offered features and services tailored to this segment of the population.

The RTA states that the authority’s strategies and services “have always been” tailored to meet the needs of people of determination.

Those who are determined can use a personalized nol card to ride for free on the Dubai Metro and public buses. The card can be purchased for Dh70–Dh50, with Dh20 serving as the initial balance. After the first five years of validity, it can be bought again.

People with vision impairments can navigate the Metro’s platforms thanks to their tactile routes.

There is a wheelchair-accessible area in each compartment. Adjacent to the wheelchair-accessible train doors are these.

Both an audible and visual version of the warning concerning the opening and closing of the doors is available.

Every Metro station has restrooms with dedicated stalls for those who are determined.

Wheelchairs can fit in the stations’ large elevators.

There are screens that indicate the location of trains and their estimated time of arrival at the platform for those who are hard of hearing. For the visually challenged, these are accompanied by audio announcements.
