A comprehensive UAE President Emirati field hospital is to be created in the Gaza Strip in accordance with President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s directives in order to provide Palestinians with critical medical treatment.
Five planes left Abu Dhabi International Airport on Monday with the supplies and equipment required for the field hospital.
The cargo is scheduled to be conveyed to the Gaza Strip after being unloaded at Egypt’s Al-Arish Airport.
There will be several phases to the establishment of the 150-bed field hospital. It will have an aesthesia and adult and pediatric intensive care units, as well as departments for general surgery, orthopedics’, pediatrics, and gynecology.
Additionally, internal medicine, dentistry, psychiatry, and family medicine clinics will be housed in the building. Laboratory, pharmacy, and CT imaging are examples of supplemental services. Other medical support services will also be provided.
The effort is a reflection of the UAE’s longstanding support and solidarity with the Palestinian people, especially in view of the difficult conditions that they are currently facing.
Previous announcements from the UAE included the delivery of $20 million in immediate help to the Palestinian people as well as a plan to transport some 1,000 Palestinian youngsters from the Gaza Strip, together with their families, to UAE hospitals for medical care.
In addition, a community aid effort named “Compassion for Gaza” has been started in the United Arab Emirates for Palestinians impacted by the ongoing conflict.
