Many residents travel during Eid Al Fitr’s occasion, which is why the airfares from the UAE to India, GCC, Pakistan, and other Middle Eastern Countries rise to 150 percent between those days.

Hence, the travel agents in the UAE recommend booking the seats as early as possible, especially for larger families who can end up paying an attractive amount.

Avinash Adnani, Managing Director of Pluto Travel, shows that the upward trend in the airfares on the Indian Subcontinent and Middle Eastern and gulf countries remain the same as they are all Muslim countries.

He further added, “Arranging for a seat a week before Eid Al Fitr becomes a challenge for travelers from the UAE. On the other side, the Indian subcontinent routes, Kerala, Lucknow, Dhaka, Delhi, Karachi, Columbo, Lahore, and Mumbai, also observe the biggest increase in the price”.

Adnani stated that airfares to almost all Muslim countries rise during the Eid festival as many UAE residents travel to their home countries to celebrate the festival with family and friends.

According to the astronomical calculations made by Ibrahim Al Jarwan, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society, the holy month of Ramadan will be on March 23, Thursday. As the holy month will last for 29 days, the first day of Eid Al Fitr is likely to fall on April 21.

However, the official holiday of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE is from Ramadan 29 to Shawwal 3 ( Hijri Islamic Calender months). If the astronomical calculations are correct, the holiday will start from Thursday, April 20, to Sunday, April 23.

Short vacations

Some residents opt for short breaks and holidays to popular destinations during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, which are 7-8 hours away by air.

TP Sudheesh, general manager of Deira Tours and Travel, says that since UAE is home to almost 180 different nationalities, festivals like Eid Al Fitr are a busy season for numerous places, including going to holiday destinations for short breaks.

He added, “In addition to the heavy traffic in the Indian subcontinent and Middle Eastern cities like Mumbai, Karachi, Delhi, and Cairo, even destinations like Singapore, Malaysia, and Bangkok also attract a good number of UAE residents for enjoying holidays during Eid breaks.”

He added, “Airfare to London too, I created to some extent because the city is a popular destination and UAE residents can go there for few days, unlike the US, which is too far for a short break.”

As per the report mentioned above, the travel agents recommend the residents of UAE book their seats earlier to get better and more reasonable fares during the Eid Al Fitr holidays for enjoying and spending holidays with families and friends.
