A Singaporean businesswoman living in Dubai is contributing to the relief efforts for those affected by the Gaza conflict. Earlier this month, Jean Winter, the founder and CEO of Touch Dubai, an inclusive talent management agency, travelled to Egypt to assist some Gazans who had been displaced.
She has been providing food and rent support, advising some women on business ideas, and setting up online jobs for Gazans living in poverty in Egypt. Her Egyptian friend Fatima, who lives in Dubai, gave her a place to stay while she was there and has been assisting her in connecting with the locals.
During her visit, she encountered numerous displaced families with difficulty obtaining basic necessities. Speaking to Khaleej Times, she stated, “I met one family of six who did not even have money to buy detergent to wash off the sand in their empty accommodation.” She assisted this family in putting some basic essentials and a kitchen stove in their unoccupied apartment. Before I left, I made sure they had enough food for a month, she added.
