Dubai has introduced a new plan to enhance the emirate’s traffic flow. Creating a policy to encourage students to use school transportation is one of the measures to reduce traffic, “which will help improve traffic flow around schools by 13 percent.”
Farah Shah, a resident of the United Arab Emirates, claims that during breaks, the effect of schools on traffic is noticeable. “Traffic tends to be much lighter when schools are on break,” she stated. This implies that a significant amount of traffic is caused by parents taking their children to school. We should encourage parents to use school buses to address this. Supporting school bus companies to lower their expenses and aggressively educating parents about the advantages of using school buses are two ways to achieve this.
Nonetheless, some parents claim that running their school is a much better option than taking the school bus. Some of the leading causes include high expenses and lengthy commutes.
Zeina Haddad, a working mother, drives two hours each day to drop off and pick up her kids from school. She even forgoes her lunch break and organizes her whole day around it. She won’t, however, register them for a school bus service.
“First of all, the kids ride the bus for over an hour every day, which is a huge waste of time and exhausting for them,” the speaker stated. I have two kids as well. I will have to pay slightly more than Dh10,000 a year for each for the school bus service. This is a substantial amount, added to their other activity and school fees.
