UAE Jobs: Employers Can Help Staff Members Through Difficult Times and Storms

A 2021 Catalyst study found that employees with highly empathic senior leaders report being innovative at work frequently or always, compared to only 13% of employees with less empathic senior leaders. Empathy has also been demonstrated to increase work engagement; 76% of professionals led by highly empathic leaders reported feeling engaged frequently or always, compared to only 32% of those led by leaders lacking empathy.

The UAE’s recent weather events have highlighted the fact that empathy is not always a given when handling difficult circumstances. Many individuals impacted by the recent storms in the United Arab Emirates were left without running water or electricity, and some families were compelled to leave their homes because they were unfit for habitation. Unfortunately, some people were required to report to work every day, no matter what.

By 2030, the incoming generation of workers—Gen Z—will probably make up most of the workforce. When asked about values at work, most people say that well-being and leading a balanced lifestyle are important. Show your staff you appreciate and support their well-being by setting a good example and communicating with them. Give your staff the resources they need to succeed by checking in with them regularly.
