Over 1.2 million meals will be served daily at Iftar sites across Dubai as part of the ‘Ramadan in Dubai’ campaign, which was launched under the directives of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Media Council.
This campaign aims to unite the government and corporate sectors to celebrate Ramadan and showcase the festive traditions that beautify the emirate with the arrival of the Holy Month.
This Ramadan, the Department plans to distribute 1.2 million Iftar meals everyday at about 1,450 places across the emirate as part of its charity operations. This year, the Department gave 1,200 permits to provide Iftar meals,” Dahi stated.
Thousands of workers gathered at Iftar sites to receive prizes and in-kind gifts from various government and business organizations. The IACAD, Dubai Police, Civil Defence, Health Authority, Dubai Ambulance, Labour Committee, and others held awareness and educational seminars and religious lectures to demonstrate their knowledge and dedication to the community.
