Introducing Mohamed Maged, an Egyptian Creative Director and Filmmaker, and the Co-Founder and CCO of DASH Group media and film production in Kuwait. An international award-winning creative and film director, Mohamed is a notable alumni of the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York, USA.
The Filmmaker has worked in the art field, advertising, animation projects, TV commercials, and films, and participated in most of the hit campaigns, branding, and TV commercials in MENA over the past decade. Over his career span, Mohamed has won and been nominated for over 85 international and regional awards from different films and advertising festivals.
In this interview, Mohamed Maged speaks about the advent of his career journey, his biggest achievements to date, the key elements of being a successful director, and offers valuable suggestions for aspiring entrepreneurs in this field.

Mohamed Maged shared, “My professional career path has been shaped by a deep passion for storytelling, arts, and filmmaking. From my early days studying at the Academy of Art and the New York Film Academy to co-founding DASH Group media and film production in Kuwait, I’ve dedicated myself to honing my craft and pushing creative boundaries. Each project I’ve undertaken has been a stepping stone, allowing me to grow as a creative director and filmmaker and explore new avenues of expression.”

Mohamed Maged shared, “My entry into the world of film directing was driven by a deep-seated passion for storytelling and visual expression. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of cinema to evoke emotions, provoke thought, and inspire change.
As I delved deeper into the art form, I realized that film directing offered me a unique platform to bring my creative visions to life and connect with audiences on a profound level. Mohamed Maged enthusiastically replied, “My greatest achievement in the field of film directing has been the successful creation and reception of ‘Trapped.’ This short film not only challenged traditional storytelling conventions but also resonated deeply with audiences worldwide.
Winning over 85 international awards and nominations for ‘Trapped’ stands as a testament to the impact it has had on viewers and the recognition it has garnered within the industry. Beyond the awards, the opportunity to provoke thought, spark conversations, and inspire audiences through my work remains the most fulfilling aspect of my directing career.”
What It Takes To Be A Successful Director

“In my view, the key to success for a director lies in a combination of creativity, vision, collaboration, and perseverance. A successful director must possess a clear artistic vision and the ability to translate that vision into compelling visual storytelling. Collaboration with talented cast and crew members is essential to bring that vision to fruition, and effective communication and leadership skills are paramount in guiding the creative process.
Additionally, adaptability, resilience, and a willingness to learn and grow are crucial traits that enable directors to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the film industry and overcome challenges along the way. Ultimately, it is the passion, dedication, and relentless pursuit of excellence that distinguish successful directors and elevate their work to new heights.” Mohamed Maged shared.

These challenges have taught me the importance of resilience, adaptability, and perseverance.
