Woman Received Dhs198,325 in Compensation after Inclement Weather Damaged her Car at the Workshop.

The Al Ain Court of First Instance ordered a car repair shop to reimburse a car owner Dhs198,325 for damages her car sustained from inclement weather while it was in the shop for maintenance.

The vehicle owner filed a lawsuit against a maintenance shop, requesting a ruling that would require the shop to pay Dhs215,000 in compensation, in addition to legal fees and expenses. The plaintiff claimed that because the workshop failed to store her car in a safe location, bad weather damaged it while it was there.

The vehicle was damaged in a traffic accident while it was still under warranty, according to the technical expert the judge appointed to write the report. He included an accident report and the cost of the repairs. He also mentioned that the car’s structure, doors, roof, and windscreen were damaged due to the delay in repairs, the rainstorm, the falling of big hail blocks, and leaving the car outside. The expert said that the car was worth Dhs215,790 on the day it was bought and Dhs163,000 according to the agency’s assessment of its worth prior to the collision and during its time in the workshop.
