Winter Rains in the United Arab Emirates: Warnings Given in Advance of Erratic Weather

A number of meetings have been organized by the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) in response to the nation’s shifting weather patterns. A notice for variable-intensity rains, lightning, thunder, and possibly hail in some regions from Sunday to Tuesday was also issued earlier this week.

The government has reiterated that preventative steps are being taken and stated that the country is ready to face the impending drop in temperature. A warning was also released by the NCEMA.

Residents were advised to follow safety precautions, particularly in locations that frequently experience severe downpours. Additionally, it urged drivers to drive very carefully and stay away from waterways, roads that could flood, and areas with standing water.

Residents are asked by the NCEMA to refrain from disseminating rumors and to rely solely on official sources for up-to-date information and direction. In the meanwhile, drivers are urged by Ras Al Khaimah Police to drive cautiously in inclement weather.
