After suffering severe injuries in a bicycle accident, an expat was airlifted by helicopter from the Sharjah desert for medical attention.
The guy, who is Asian in nationality, is being carried into a helicopter by rescue responders, as shown in a video released by the National Search and Rescue Center (NSRC).In the Nazwa area, the rescue operation was executed in tandem with the Sharjah Police.
Medical staff discovered that the man had suffered severe back injuries in the collision, according to the Center. On his body, they also found further wounds.
The NSRC has previously provided the following safety advice for those going into the desert:
If you need to stay longer, ensure you have enough food, drink, and a portable stove.
Utilize an offline map-compatible smartphone app or GPS device. Make a note of your starting and finishing points and rest pauses.
Carry extra petrol with you if you’re driving because gas stations could be far from the desert.
Travel as a group and stay in contact. It’s vital for security, particularly in case you get lost. It makes sense to use a walkie-talkie.
You should also carry a shovel and tow rope in case your car becomes trapped in the sand.
