UAE strongly denies Israeli assault on Gaza camp

The Israeli airstrikes on a Gazan refugee camp, which resulted in hundreds of fatalities or injuries, have been sharply denounced by the UAE.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that “indiscriminate attacks” would do “irreparable damage” to the area after the fatal attack on the Jabalia refugee camp in the enclave’s northern section on Tuesday night.

About 400 people were killed or injured in the strikes, according to Dr. Atef Kahlout, director of the Indonesian Hospital where the victims are being treated, who spoke to The National.

“We have nowhere to place the victims, so we are treating them on the floors. Dr. Kahlout stated, “People are coming in with fourth-degree burns, some bodies headless and in pieces. The UAE has reiterated its demands for a rapid ceasefire in order to stop more deaths The significance of a resolution proposed by the UN General Assembly demanding a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza was emphasized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to official news agency Wam, which cited the ministry, “The UAE reiterates that the continued lack of a political horizon risks catastrophic repercussions, and disregarding the potential consequences would lead to devastating outcomes for the prospects of peace and stability in the region. In the meantime, the Emirates addressed the conflict-related humanitarian catastrophe that is getting worse in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

The political coordinator for the UAE delegation to the UN, Ghasaq Shaheen, emphasized the critical need of providing assistance to those in the Gaza Strip who are experiencing “catastrophic conditions.”
Ms. Shaheen reiterated, at a UN Security Council briefing hosted by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the UAE’s demand for an urgent ceasefire to stop additional casualties.
