UAE Slashes Visa Overstay Fine in Half, Now Only Dh50 per Day

UAE Slashes Visa

UAE Slashes Visa

The UAE government has decided to facilitate overstay visa fines to promote visa regulation. Residents, tourists, and visit visa holders who overstay will now have to pay Dh50 a day instead of Dh100.

However, the UAE has put forward this policy to encourage residents and visitors to give way to the immigration laws of the country. To renew your visa or extend its validity, the UAE officials instructed foreigners and tourists to visit ten Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship websites and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai to promote a smoother visa process.

Moreover, individuals can check the service fee for various visas, including issuance, cancellation, or extension, in person or online to avoid paying extra.

Applicants can also submit requests for entry permits and visas through the authorized website, the Authority’s innovative application, the Dubai Now App, and authorized printing centers.

Once their application is approved, applicants will get a confirmation message and the original entry permit.

Besides, the UAE also provides a grace period to individuals who have overstayed their visas. However, the grace period usually ranges from 10 to 30 days, during which individuals can correct their immigration status without incurring fines. However, the visa overstay penalty of Dh50 per day accumulates once the grace period has elapsed.

Moreover, on October 3, 2022, overlapping with the system’s official launch, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security introduced rules and procedures for the New Visa Scheme for the UAE.
