As part of the ongoing “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign, the UAE sent a plane carrying 100 tonnes of food, medical, and relief supplies to El Arish city in Egypt. This aid is intended for entry into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Border Crossing, in collaboration with the UN World Food Programme.
This support shows UAE’s ongoing commitment in helping Gaza. They’re sending necessary supplies such as food, sanitary products, health supplies, etc as they are focusing on children, women and elderly.
Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister for Development and International Organisations Affairs, emphasized that sending this aid is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to address the current humanitarian challenges in Gaza. He highlighted the country’s consistent support since the crisis began, delivering urgent food and medical supplies to the affected population in Gaza.
Al Shamsi also mentioned that the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign, launched last month with widespread participation from various segments of society, humanitarian organizations, and volunteers, reflects the UAE’s commitment to providing relief for the Palestinians. It underscores the country’s values of generosity and human solidarity.
