The UAE has sent an additional five planes carrying supplies and equipment to aid in the construction of a field hospital in the Gaza Strip. This brings the total number of aircraft dispatched to 16 as part of the UAE’s Gallant Knight 3 humanitarian operation.
The cargo from these planes will be offloaded in the Egyptian city of El Arish. Here, all the necessary equipment, supplies, and requirements for establishing and operating the UAE field hospital will be assembled.
The field hospital, which has 150 beds, will have different sections for things like anesthesia, surgery, gynecology, and intensive care. It’s set up to help both kids and adults. According to Gaza’s health ministry (run by Hamas), out of the 10,000 people who lost their lives, 4,000 were children.
Gaza’s health facilities are really busy right now, and they don’t have enough medical supplies. Plus, they’re getting attacked more often. This info is from a report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
Over the past two days, the UAE has initiated an air bridge to transport the hospital’s equipment. This falls within the framework of the UAE’s Gallant Knight 3 humanitarian operation, reflecting the country’s commitment to easing the suffering of the Palestinian people and supporting the healthcare system in the challenging circumstances faced by the Gaza Strip.
