UAE: School Bus Strikes Sidewalk, Injuring five People, Three of them Students

Three children and two supervisors were slightly hurt in a school bus accident that happened in Sharjah early on Thursday morning.

The school bus abruptly turned, skidded, and struck the pavement, according to the Sharjah Police, causing the accident.

The injured were taken to a hospital to receive medical attention. Following the disaster, the private school’s parents have received assurances from the authorities that their students are safe and well.

The authorities have emphasized the importance of driving school buses carefully and adhering to traffic laws.

In the United Arab Emirates, school buses are subject to a rigorous set of restrictions and are frequently the subject of extensive investigations by authorities.

In 2,000 buses, the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) installed cameras and safety equipment last year. Thanks to the webcams, parents can keep an eye on their kids while they commute to and from school. GPS equipment was deployed on buses before the outbreak. To enable tracking, they are connected to the operations room of Emirates Transport and the SPEA’s control and monitoring room.
