The UAE has maintained its position and is in first place in the Global Terrorism Index (GTI) even after four consecutive years. The UAE is observed as one of the safest places among the several countries that take effective measures for combatting terrorism and other extremist activities. It is one of the safest countries in the world, with a “shallow” risk of spreading terrorist activities.
The rankings were based on the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) findings, which is mainly responsible for the heh index and publishes its results annually.
The Global Terrorism Index is one of the indicators surveyed by the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation “MoFAIC,” and its data is supported by the Ministry’s Global Peace and Stability Initiative. Under this initiative, the Index data is supported by communication from the Ministry with the influence of international sources like the United Nations and international organizations, specialized research institutes and centers, and the Institute for Economics and Peace. MOSAIC also provides national reports on the UAE’s efforts in combatting terrorism, which shows the Ministry’s active role, involved agencies, and governmental technical committees in the fight against extremism.
The Global Terrorism Index provides a comprehensive summary of the global patterns and trends influencing terrorism over the last two decades. It is based on analyzing different social and economic conditions and influential geopolitical factors.
UAE is one of the top countries in the world taking the initiative for combatting terrorism. The report highlights that it is one of the safest countries in the world with a lower risk of spreading terrorism. It has maintained its position for the past four consecutive years.
