Rajinikanth, an Indian actor and superstar, recently received the coveted UAE Golden Visa—but says it would not have happened without his “friend Yusuffali,” the chairman and managing director of Lulu Group.
The actor also thanked the government for the honour.
“I am honoured to have received the UAE’s prestigious Golden Visa. My heartfelt gratitude to the UAE government and my friend Yusuffali; without him, this would not have happened. I am grateful to him,” Rajinikanth, also known as ‘Thalaivar’ among his legions of fans, said in a video.
Yusuffali, for his part, stated that he played a “small part” in facilitating the Golden Visa for “my brother”. “I am pleased to have played a small role in facilitating this. I hope and pray that my brother will continue to excel in various roles for years to come.
The Lulu MD praised Rajinikanth’s mass appeal and philanthropy, as well as his contribution to the globalisation of Indian cinema. “Rajinikanth, a great actor, is a close friend and brother. He has a towering, multifaceted personality and is a versatile actor. Despite his fame, he is a modest and down-to-earth individual. He has used every challenge as a stepping stone to reach this level, with an unparalleled global fan base. “It was always in my mind that such a distinguished person should receive the coveted UAE Golden Visa,” Yusuffali told Khaleej Times.
The Lulu MD also praised the local authorities for their gesture of presenting Rajinikanth with the Golden visa.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, presented the actor with the Golden Visa.
