UAE: Improved Learning or Digital Diversion? Students Discuss the Direction of Education.

Technology in UAE has made a permanent home in people’s daily lives, from the office to the home, and it is now an essential component of education.

In schools across the United Arab Emirates, a backpack stuffed with textbooks and notebooks is no longer the standard. Since a tablet or laptop is required to finish schoolwork, many students always have one with them.

The Applied Technology School’s Abdulrahman Jamal, a Grade 12 student, told the Arab News, “We used to carry tens of books with us to school, but now we have all these books in a compressed application.”

“With digital learning, we can stay engaged in class while taking notes and photos. He continued, “We need to support this approach to education and work to improve its effectiveness for children.

LearnPlatform reports that since 2020, following the COVID-19 epidemic, the use of digital devices has surged by 99% in numerous nations, including the United Arab Emirates.
