UAE: How Can a Worker Who Invests in Real Estate in Dubai Convert to a Golden Visa?

Those who are in the country on a UAE golden residency visa are allowed to work there. This is in line with Article 7 of the Employment Law as read with Article 6(1)(j) of Cabinet Resolution No. 1 of 2022, which says as follows: “The type of work permit shall be determined by the provisions of Article 7 of the Decree-Law, subject to the following criteria. A professional license issued by the competent authority, for example, doctor, nurse, etc (professional license issued by the Ministry of Health – Department of Health)/Teacher, teacher assistant (Ministry of Education- Knowledge Authority (Dubai)

Permit for holders of golden visas: This kind of permit is given at the request of a business registered with the Ministry and wants to hire a worker with a golden visa in the State.

Employees may notify their employer of a change to their UAE residency visa before receiving a golden residency visa. The employer must cancel the employee’s current work permit and then their UAE residency visa by the letter above.

According to the aforementioned legal provision, a prospective employee with a UAE golden residency visa may sign a new employment contract with an existing employer or a prospective employer and obtain a work permit per the provisions outlined in the Administrative Resolution once their work permit is canceled.
