UAE garnering global support for immediate ceasefire in Gaza

The United Arab Emirates’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, Jamal Jama Al Musharakh, has confirmed that the UAE is working with other nations to bring about an urgent ceasefire in Gaza. The UAE vehemently denounced Israel’s policy of collectively punishing the Palestinian people and its attempts to force them from their homes, stressing the need for the international community to come up with a common set of standards to denounce transgressions of international humanitarian law.

At a high-level ministerial meeting held in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the Geneva Declaration on Human Rights, this declaration was made. Several foreign ministers and high-ranking officials were present at the event, where Al Musharakh gave the final remarks. He reaffirmed the nation’s historic and unwavering commitment to helping the Palestinian people realize all of their rights.

He emphasized that the United Arab Emirates will persist in its efforts to bring about peace by implementing concrete measures and formulating a plan for a two-state solution involving an autonomous Palestinian state, in compliance with pertinent resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, and negotiated by the two sides with complete international support.
