The Dubai-based airline flydubai declared on Tuesday that, in light of the growing strain between Israel and Hezbollah, it has modified its flight schedule to include stops in Beirut, Lebanon.
Following the attack on Golan over the weekend, Lebanon was on high alert on Tuesday. The attack on the football pitch in the Golan Heights, which Israel controls, was attributed by Tel Aviv to Hezbollah. Hezbollah denied having anything to do with the assault.
According to a revised flight schedule, Flydubai will now fly twice a day from Beirut Airport (BEY) until August 2. A Flydubai representative told Khaleej Times in a statement, We continue to monitor the situation closely.
Before now, the airline ran three daily flights to meet the high volume of summer travel.
The two parties have been urged by numerous nations to ease tensions and prevent violence. Lebanese foreign missions are scrambling to remove their employees from the Arab nation.
Numerous other airlines have also postponed or cancelled their Beirut flights. Thus far, flights operated by Middle East Airlines in Lebanon, Lufthansa, Swiss International Airlines, and Eurowing have been affected.
