UAE attests to Perrier Drinking Water's Safety.

According to officials on Tuesday, the safety of Perrier water products supplied in the United Arab Emirates is undisputed.

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with all pertinent regulatory authorities, affirms the safety of the Perrier French water products that are sold in the nation’s marketplaces. It also notes that all food products that are in circulation are subject to regulatory procedures that guarantee the consumers’ health and safety.

The emirate’s customers were informed on Sunday by the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) that all essential precautions are being taken to keep dangerous and unhealthy items out of the emirate’s marketplaces.

The authorities emphasized that stringent controls are in place throughout the supply chain for all food goods that are in circulation. The same holds true for imported food items at different ports, where a product cannot be admitted unless it satisfies approved requirements.

Prior to this, Nestle announced that it had increased oversight in response to French regulators’ concerns on the quality of its bottled mineral water brands, notably Perrier. The action was taken in response to information that, following the discovery of “faecal” contamination, France’s food safety authorities had suggested more stringent oversight of the locations from which Nestle obtains mineral water.

The suggestion, which was given to the health ministry last year, follows prosecutors’ probe into claims that Nestle treated its mineral waters illegally in order to purify them.
