UAE: A Green Job is What Nearly 60% of Gen Z Professionals Want

In the United Arab Emirates, approximately 60% of Gen Z professionals desire a green job, or one that helps to protect the environment. However, according to recent research published by LinkedIn, only three out of ten have a “good awareness” of the available green roles.

According to the research, 63% of Gen Z think there aren’t enough green jobs available, and only 16% think there are enough training opportunities available to help them develop the skills necessary to compete for these positions.

According to LinkedIn’s growth markets leader for EMEA, Ali Matar, “Gen Z professionals are projected to represent over a quarter of the international labour force by 2025, so it is important that employers listen more closely to them.”

According to the survey, most members of Generation Z who are considering a green career over the next five years want to save the environment. Additionally, they think that working in green jobs offers good opportunities and the possibility of earning more money.

“This generation is unyielding in their demand for green policies that match their values from their employers and decision-makers, and they are becoming increasingly aware of their role in addressing environmental issues,” Matar stated.
